Seriously guys, try songwriting!
A great thing about songwriting is that basically you're free to express yourself however you want - whether you're writing something sad, or possibly romantic. Songs can be about anything you want, and often they're quite personal. You could just write the lyrics, and perhaps add a tune later on, or vice versa. Just do it however you want to - it helps to clear your mind and bring new ideas into your head. So there are plenty of benefits! And if you're musical, feel free to add an instrument to make the sound more interesting. Gather your friends and work all together! Its really up to you. But the most important thing is don't be afraid to start - many people gve up because they think what they've written sounds silly. I won't lie - I've done that too but you should just explore your possibilities with the music.
