Hi, today I'm going to write about the pleasures and responsibilities of owning a pet. Owning a pet is so nice, because if you really care about it, then a strong, affectionate connection will be developed between the two of you. But one very important thing to remember is that a pet is NOT A TOY. You can't just play with it for like a week but then forget about it. Animals have feelings and need plenty of love, and attention. You also need to understand that quite a bit of your own time should be dedicated to your pet. Some pets come with quite a costly side too. If this all sounds like too much, but you still want to spend some time with animals then consider doing some volunteer work at a needy organisation such as the RSPCA. Doing something to help others will give you such happiness! Here are some benefits of owning a pet:
- You practise taking care of someone which comes with a great deal of responsibility
- You and your pet will develop such a strong, loving connection
- Your pet can cheer you up when you are not feeling your best
- They are just so CUTE!
And now, some tips...
- When you get a pet, make sure you thoroughly research how to take good care of it
- TALK to your pet. Tell them what you are going to do with them (e.g bathe them). They will trust you more if they can understand you
- Understand that you're pet can feel fear, anger, frustration and lonliness. Try to do whatever you can to make your pet feel better (just a hug is good.) (Don't do this with a goldfish)
- Give your pet an original name! There are enough 'Charlies' around!
Most importantly, love your pet and accept the responsibility that comes with it!
Love Bel
